A wonderful collection of short fairy tales!

This is a must read for fairy tale lovers.
Let me say first of all, I hope that the author gives this treatment to many more classic stories! She is expert at building personality for these often one dimensional characters in fairy tales.
The first and best of the three stories is based on Snow White and is seen mostly from the viewpoint of the Wicked Queen. Far from just another story that tries to cast the villain as a good guy, the author here spins a tragic tale of twin sisters with such love for one another they are willing to lose everything. But when one sister is left alone because of a child with skin as white as snow, her heart slowly turns from love to hate.
The second story is an expansion of the second part of the famous Sleeping Beauty fairy tale. Most only know of the story up to the point where the princess awakens, but the story did not end there (look it up, I'm not joking!)
The third story is good, but no where near as original. It is an exact retelling of the Tinder Box with a the author's own flair for words.
