Touching Holiday Read

Noel and Holly have been working together for over a year. They'd never looked at each other as any thing but co-workers because Noel is still grieving over the loss of his wife and Holly was in a relationship. After walking up on Holly crying over the "Jackass" breaking up with her, Noel invites her on his Christmas vacation. The vacation he takes to ease the loss of his wife by being alone and staying drunk during the holidays. Both of them are going there with one goal, to make it through the lonely holidays ALONE, no sex, no interaction with each other. Once they get to the cabin in Scotland the chemistry quietly starts building and the feelings for each other come out. But are both too emotionally crippled to start something?
One thing that stands out about Holly's First Noel is that even though they fall for each other quickly, it's a slow, leisurely build up that makes you believe it the bond they are forming is strong and everlasting (not the walk in the cabin door and tear each other's clothes off). I loved Noel, his feelings of guilt over wanting another woman, his tenderness with Noel and when the nerdy, Science teacher turns on the heat WOWZA!!! Holly is funny and quirky, a totally likable heroine.
One of my favorite scenes is when Noel asks Holly to stay in his side of the house and play on her guitar "Something" by the Beatles, the emotions I picked up that his was starting to feel at that point had me catching my breath and sighing.
The only thing I wished for was an epilogue, I know not every story needs one, but I fell so in love with Noel that I would love to see him and Holly a few Christmases later with a baby or a toddler.
Holly's First Noel is a sweet, contemporary romance, with humor and just enough steam to make it a great all around read. BONUS it's a Christmas story! Holly's First Noel is a novella (78 pgs) but it's a whole lotta story and emotion inside!!!
I've also read White Hot Christmas by Serenity Woods (Faye's other name) and all I have to say is - be it as Faye Robertson or Serenity Woods, she is an author to watch out for more from!!!

Cute and Sweet Christmas Story

I really enjoyed both Holly and Noel. Even though they had worked together for the past year, they both steered clear of the other, Holly being intimidated by Noel and Noel not sure what to make of Holly. But once those barriers were down, they were absolutely perfect for each other.
Holly was one of those characters that was "out there". She spent a lot of time in her head and then would inadvertently ask questions or statements related to whatever conversation she had been having with herself internally. Most people, including myself, would find that incredibly annoying. But Noel seemed to understand Holly's quirk and was able to roll with it, even if he couldn't figure out who or what she was talking about.
Noel seemed to spent a lot of time apologizing to his dead wife for making strides towards having a life without her. After three years, he finally felt something for a woman. He wanted the wife, the kids, the whole package. But at the same time, he felt as if he was betraying his wife and kept apologizing. It makes you love Noel for being that type of man, but also infuriated that he would think his wife wouldn't want him to have those things after she was gone.
This was a really cute and sweet Christmas story about two people finding the right person in less than perfect conditions (having your long time boyfriend dump you a week before Christmas and still mourning your wife's death three years before definitely fits the "less than perfect condition" bill). But sometimes when you least expect it, the best thing falls in your lap.

Hot for Teacher (Don't Miss This!)

Holly's First Noel is a hilarious, flirtatious Christmas romantic comedy. Every element I look for and love in a book is here in this story, put together in a way that had me smiling at every page, laughing out loud more times than I can count, and wishing my science teachers had been half as sexy as Noel Coward.
Holly is a girl's girl. She says things we all think, mostly at completely inappropriate times. Seriously, she probably needs a filter, but that just made me love her all the more. And Noel is strong, witty, sexy, and smart--just about everything you could want in a leading man. Plus he's sensitive, in touch with his emotions, and doesn't run for the hills when a woman expresses hers. Yes, girls, swoon now. Then get your butt over to Amazon and get this book so we can swoon together.
I wasn't sure if there would be any "sexy time" moments in this story, being that it's a shorter story, but never fear. Although the sizzling chemistry between these two would've been enough without it, I'm happy to say Ms. Robertson brings the steamy, and the love scenes between Holly and Noel are positively delicious.
There's only one flaw in this heart-warming, sexy story . . . it's too short! Yes, I know, I know. It's part of Entangled's Ever After line--which I simply adore, by the way--and therefore is supposed to be short. But I want more! No, I need more. 78 pages is simply not enough of this fun couple. I want more of my sexy English gentleman teacher!
Holly's First Noel was my first book by Faye Robertson, but I can definitely say she's won herself a new life long fan. I can't wait to see what she does next. :-)
