I'm a werewolf lover . I really don't like vampires to read or to watch on TV. I really enjoys reading about a different side of vampire other then taking people blood . This my first vampire book. If other vampire reading is like those five books I just read I will buy again. The authors is on my list of favorites.

I read Ethan's book because it was on sale for free and I couldn't stop. I immediately bought the boxset and finished that in a day too!!! Such an amazing group of brothers and their women. I think Liam and Daric's mates are my favorite though, although Rory is definitely my favorite brother of all!!! Such a wonderful collection of books with a great authoress. Worth every penny!!

Gillette, manager Sugar Brook Poultry Farm Co., Central A illage, Conn.; The Stoddard Open Air Cage Eoost, designed by H. H. Stoddard, Eiviera, Texas, for warm or hot dry climates. Illustrations from photographs of the Tolman Fresh-A ir House are also given, but plans and building instructions are omitted, as such are subject to the copyright of the inventor. About the Author
Dr. Francois Mathey received a doctoral degree in chemistry from the University of Paris VI in 1971. He worked for the chemical industry until 1986 and then moved to Ecole Polytechnique. He left Ecole Polytechnique for the University of California Riverside in 2003 and joined NTU in 2008. He has got several awards including the silver medal of the CNRS, the Raymond Berr-Atochem and Grignard-Wittig awards of the French Chemical Society, the Paul Langevin and Mergier-Bourdeix awards of the French Academy of Sciences, the A. von Humboldt research prize, a JSPS fellowship, the Main Group Chemistry award, the Arbuzov prize, the City of Zhengzhou’s Shangdu Friendship award, the People’s Republic of China’s Friendship Award. He is member of the French Academy of Sciences, Leopoldina Academy, Academy of Göttingen, Academia Europaea, European Academy of Sciences and foreign member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences . He has been President of the French Chemical Society between 2000 and 2003. He has taught transition metal organometallic chemistry to undergraduate and graduate students for 20 years now.

The plot gets thicker and everyone is on some crazy evil ish...it's time for some get back and everyone in this book is dishing it out and getting it served right back . i enjoyed it and can't wait for part 3. Amazing art and a great story; look, quit reading this and just get the comic!

If you've read "The Ultimates" by Mark Millar, then you're already familiar with Bryan Hitch's amazing art. His work is the whole reason I started collecting "Age of Ultron," and it's been a great ride so far. This first volume sets up what's happened in this alternate universe: basically, Ultron's destroyed most of earth (and most of humanity), and what few superheroes are left can't seem to stop him/them. Hawkeye's determined that they should be doing something beyond just surviving though, which leads to him trying to rescue Spider-Man...and yeah, just read the comic. I'm really enjoying the efforts of "Marvel NOW," and this series is just one more reason why.

This title and its companion, Rudlin's 1994 Commedia dell'Arte: An Actor's Handbook, give the reader a thorough overview of this wonderful theatrical art form. Both Rudlin and Crick have directed and/or performed commedia dell'arte, and they bring historical, theoretical, and practical perspectives to the text. Their research brings together information on the internationally renowned troupes from 1568 to 1622, the so-called golden age of improvisation before the art form became more solidly text-based. As interesting as the historical material is the information on contemporary 20th-century commedia dell'arte troupes who perform in English, including one in this reviewer's own state of Texas. Anyone interested in starting a troupe will learn much from these case studies and histories as the historical material is enriched with practical advice on performance, creating sets and costumes, and forming and training a company. Rudlin and Crick devote an entire chapter to the creation of the ever-important mask, and another extremely helpful chapter teaches the various aspects of script and scene creation. Good resource

Personally, I found the historical aspect of this book the most appealing. The actual "how to" part of the book could easily be made into a seperate book itself. Great information, and I respect Mr. Rudlin. I've read most everything he's written and have thoroughly enjoyed learned about this wonderful art.

John Rudlin knows his Commedia Dell'arte

I bought this book as a companion to John Rudlin's other Commedia book. The book is perfect if you a truly getting a professional commedia troupe off it's feet. however I was simply putting on one scenario in a two week period of time, so I simply didn't have the time for the rehearsal games and techniques. However the sections on how to write a scenario helped me immensely.

please note that if you know nothing about the wonderful world of Commedia Dell'Arte then this book is not for you. I would reccomend John Rudlins Commedia Dell'Arte: A handbook for ACTORS, it's very good.

"At last..." Qhuinn lets us all in...

Now, if you've been waiting for the return to the "glory days" of the BDB, the mostly couple- centered novels of books 1-5, you are not going to be any more pleased with this newest installment. There are at least four different character arcs, but when you remember that this book was originally supposed to come as a novella, you aren't surprised with the expanded stories of formerly minor characters. After all, the story of Qhuinn & Blaylock (like John Matthew & Xhex's) has been told in little bits & large chunks in previous installments. So this book is not so much about IF they would come together, as HOW they would come together.

And it's in this that you have to tip your hat to Ward completely. Very few romantica writers have both the publishing ability to warrant a major release whose book centers around two male characters, & as rabid as the fanbase is about their "Qhuay," this becomes one of those novels that seems impossible to write & still live up to the standards she's set for us in the previous ten novels. But Ward did it by showing us a side to a character that we all thought we knew so well: Qhuinn. He's what's driven their relationship to ruins, & in the end, he's the one that can make it whole. And by the end of "Lover At Last," you see Qhuinn so completely, that if you didn't understand why an "aristocratic gentlemale" like Blay would love the "tattooed orphan with a metal fetish," you not only understood, you were in completely in love with him too.

Which explains why the graphic scenes in this book could be most classified as "love scenes." One of the big questions about "LAL" was if Ward was going to bring this book's sex scenes to the same detailed level as her previous books. And she doesn't; but if anything, the story is better for it. The intimate scenes are a good medium between the dropping of a black curtain, & an overload of minutiae: enough that you can tell what's going on, but not so much that a previously- unexposed- to- m/m- sex reader will feel squeamish reading it. Those scenes between Qhuinn & Blay actually feel the more like "love scenes" than many of the scenes Ward has written recently, because the focus really is about their feelings, about what their bodies coming together means for their souls. You learn so much about them from the conversations they both do & don't have afterward, that even if you feel like she could have been a bit more graphic, the emotional intimacy is well worth the trade- off.

In fact, "Lover At Last" is full of these intimate, emotional moments between characters. Some of the best parts are between Blay & his parents, but Wrath (who nearly steals the show with a monolog so powerful you could feel his kingliness right through the page) & Beth have their own little interlude that is going to send the readers into overdrive for the next year thinking about what may or may not be coming. And while Saxton's presence in this book is not much as one would think it would be, what little is written from his point of view is not only telling as to why he deserves his own HEA someday, it should soothe the feelings of any reader who blames him for Qhuinn & Blay not being together sooner.

Still, this is not the perfect book that we've all been writing in our minds since these two first kissed in "Lover Enshrined." There's a huge continuity issue that is going to bug long- time readers to no end, & while most readers will enjoy getting to know better the Shadows, Assail, & Layla (who's transition from meek Chosen to alpha female is a total treat), by the end of the novel, there's no real clear picture about whose story we should obsess over next. Frankly, if you didn't care about these formally minor characters before, Ward is going to have work double- time to make you care about them in the future.

Because the end of "Lover At Last" signals the last of the major romantic storylines in the BDB world. Its bittersweet, for sure, this final curtain on two of Ward's most beloved characters. But what happens before the fade to black (literally: the last few chapters are some of the most satisfying she's ever written) reminds us why we hung with them through four other books: that yes, at last, true love can finally come, if not along, but around. And we can still look forward to seeing just whose love comes along next.

EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED. I have been a fan of these series ...

EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED. I have been a fan of these series but I have to say that the books have become very boring, predictable and formulaic. It seems that Ms. Ward is either struggling with this series or is simply satisfying the contractual obligation to create certain number of books. The relationship between Qhuinn and Blay has been built up through the last couple of books only to come crashing down in this book. Obviously the followers of this series knew, from the title, that Qhuinn and Blay would finally become partners. I wanted to read about the factors and/or events that finally brings these two characters together. I wanted to read more about development of these characters and their relationship. Instead I was given pages and pages of redundant angst, side stories, and impractical approach. For example, John Mathew, who is their closest friend, is utterly absent while Qhuinn and Blay go through their apprehension! At most, 1/3 of the book is about Qhuinn and Blay while the rest is about Trez, Assail, and Sola. (Assail is yet another drug lord, how original!)
As for the sex scenes, they were ridiculous. It seems that Ms. Ward may not have been comfortable with or informed about gay men's intimacy. I am utterly disappointed with the series development and will no longer follow it.

A Little Disappointed By My Own Expectations

FINAL DECISION: I was happy that Qhuinn and Blay finally got their HEA but I thought this story lacked something perhaps because the most dramatic parts of their story took place in other books sapping some of this book's emotional core.

THE STORY: Qhuinn has loved his friend Blay for years but has denied the attraction afraid of adding being gay to his other perceived "imperfections". Despite the fact that he has impregnated the Chosen Layla, Qhuinn finally has reached the point of admitting that he wants Blay. At the same time, Blay has apparently moved beyond his own attraction to Qhuinn after years of unrequited love. Blay is in a relationship with Qhuinn's cousin. Despite the relationships pulling them in different directions, Blay and Qhuinn cannot deny the passion that exists between them.

OPINION: After being thoroughly engage in Qhuinn and Blay's story in the last couple of books, I was a bit disappointed by how things went in this book. First, I think that if you haven't read the other books in this series, this book fails to make the romance compelling. I think the most dramatic and emotionally compelling part of their story took place in prior books and without those portions here, the angst just dragged on rather than move the story forward.

I felt the story was "Q&B don't talk to one another", sex, "Q&B don't talk to one another", sex, etc, etc. until "I love you" and HEA. What I didn't like was that it felt like the two always loved one another, Qhuinn had made the significant breakthrough in admitting his feelings in the previous book and all that was keeping them apart at this point was lack of saying "I love you."

Despite that, there were moments between Qhuinn and Blay that I really liked and the longtime connection between these characters gave depth and significance to them finally finding their path to one another. I'd give a 5 to their entire journey together, but only a 4 to this book alone.

Of course, there is not only one storyline in this book.

The continuing storyline about the Band of Bastards attack on Wrath's reign is accelerating in preparation for the next book of the series which revisits Wrath and Beth's relationship. The intriguing relationship between Xcor and Layla also continues here. A new relationship appears on the horizon between the drug dealer vampire Assail and his "burglar". Finally, someone from Qhuinn's past unexpectedly reappears and thus a new storyline is born.

Overall, I enjoyed this book. I will reread it later and perhaps my opinion will evolve after I get over some of my expectations disappointment.

WORTH MENTIONING: The Lesser Society has made a welcome reappearance after being mere fodder for the vampires to kill in the last few books.

CONNECTED BOOKS: LOVER AT LAST is the eleventh book in the Black Dagger Brotherhood series. This series has intertwined stories which cover a number of books. A single book has multiple viewpoints. Qhuinn and Blay's story takes place over a number of book merely culminating here.

STAR RATING: I give this book 4 stars.
